In ancient Laotian spiritual belief systems, the dragon-like Naga serves as a protector and provider for the region of Laos and its people. It is this revered spirit from which this singular coffee derives its name. The Naga is a washed microlot composed fully of the subtly floral and complex Gesha variety, cherries carefully selected by farmers in the Chammpasak region of the Boloven Plateau, where the Nonglouang River cascades down the Tad Kameud Waterfall into the lowlands. The cool weather tropics, abundant rainfall, and volcanic soil make the plateau ideal for coffee growth, and has been farmed by the Yahern people for more than a century. Their efforts yield dividends in this richly sweet, silky smooth cup, with notes of maple syrup, dried berries and pomegranate.
