A second-generation Colombian coffee producer, Lisandro Cardenas of Finca Las Brisas has spent his whole life cultivating, and studying specialty coffee. Now the owner of a 5-hectare farm in the internationally famous coffee-growing region of Huila, Colombia, Lisandro produces uniquely flavorful microlots of Caturra, Bourbon, and Gesha coffee.

The Gesha variety has commanded close attention and stratospheric auction prices since it came to the attention of international coffee buyers in the mid-2000s, and is now cultivated throughout Africa, Asia, and Central America. Although gesha flavor profiles tend towards the delicate and tea-like, this naturally processed lot is bolder and brighter, with notes of dried berry and citrus, and the sugary sweetness and slight wildness of a glass of fine red wine.
